Have you ever been late? I mean late to something important - the interview that would have changed your life, an appointment you could not afford to miss, or the big game!
A friend of mine missed his appointment to his tryout for a MLB team! It was his opportunity of a lifetime but was too late! Maybe you feel like it’s too late in life and you’ve missed it. Don’t.
The man who ultimately wrote 14 books of the Bible was late in life when he discovered the gospel. But he got in and got busy. You can too. It’s never too late. Choose not to waste any more of your life.

One glimpse of the crucified and risen Jesus is all it takes to express your gratitude for God’s forgiveness. Let it then enlighten and empower you to see and serve others like Jesus did you.
Friend, you don’t have to be a latecomer to Jesus. But even if you are, don’t be like my friend and miss the opportunity of a lifetime. Come today and discover or recover your zeal for Jesus.

1. God Uses Late Comers (1 Cor. 15:1-8).
- Paul was a problem before he was persuaded! But once persuaded he could not be kept silent or on the sidelines (Acts 26:9-18, 2 Tim. 1:12). It’s never too late to repent and believe.
- We’ve baptized those who believed late in life. We’re witnessing laborers emerge later in life. Whatever your age or ability choose not to waste any more of your life (1 Cor. 15:8-11).
- The aged Nicodemus sought secretly (John 3:1-8), then stood subtly (7:50-53), but then served selflessly after seeing Jesus high and lifted up at Calvary - for him (19:33-40).
2. God Re-Uses Late Comers (Isa. 6:1-8)
- The sins of God’s people can get under our skin and make us cynical of church. But a fresh vision of Jesus (and our own hypocrisy) can get us back to serving the Lord.
- Isaiah had some sin of his own with which to deal. If you’ve lost your zeal to serve, God’s not done with you yet. Go to the word for cleansing and be renewed (Psa. 51:10-13).
- A man who served with Jesus for years got discouraged and doubtful. Yet Jesus met Thomas where he was and helped him believe again. Friend, is that you? (John 20:24-29).
