Does Your Life Reveal God's Ultimate Truth about Himself?
You Can Listen to the Audio Message Here
At the weekly Bible study in the county jail, I’ve been challenged to make sure I’m not a liability in helping those hungry men understand why God became a man - specifically for them.
He did something for us so we would do something for Him. God was made flesh to redeem us from the power of sin and darkness that ruins us then take our experience and reveal Him to others.
When seeking to express ourselves we use words. John begins his gospel by calling Jesus the Word made flesh - God made visible to express the ultimate truth about Himself (From John 1:1-14).
God is personal, knowable, relational, available - ready to be revealed to you and by you. John picks up his gospel pen to express a Person he wants you to receive, relate to, and reveal to others.
1. The Logos (1).
2. The Liability (2-3, Col. 1:15-18).
3. The Life & Light (4-14)
Here’s the challenge concerning the Logos: Are you a liability or light when it comes to God’s ultimate truth about Himself - Jesus Christ? Commit to being more credible today (John 1:15).
Until there is greater commitment to time with God’s Word (His life personally) there will be little comprehension of God’s witness (His light practically). My friend, fall in love with God’s Word!

Jesus is rarely comprehended because His word is barely considered. Each minute in darkness you trade for light in God’s word is an investment that reveals what you believe Jesus is worth.
My friend, get hungry for God’s Word so you can bear witness to God’s light and become life-giving as you make the gospel visible and accessible here in Shelby Center and wherever you go.

1. The Logos (1).
- Jesus is “God’s ultimate truth about Himself”. The Bible is God’s precious revelation to us, and Jesus is the perfect expression and embodiment of that revelation (John 14:9).
- If you want to know what God is like study Jesus, who is God, from His written word. So, what is your Bible worth? The answer is revealed by how much time you “spend” on it.
2. The Liability (2-3, Col. 1:15-18).
- You have a decision to make and only this life to reach it: Who is Jesus Christ and why did He come? Was He deceptive, delusional, or Deity? Jesus’ claim to be God is credible.
- If Deity, you’re liable to the life for which Jesus created you and to the light He has given you. The Word, who is God, reveals your origin, meaning, purpose, morality, and destiny.
3. The Life & Light (4-14)
- Some are oblivious (4-11). They like to live in the dark places and miss or reject the source of life and the light God shines to guide them to Himself (John 3:16-21, Eph. 5:1-14).
- (John 1:4-5 a, 9, 12-14). Your physical life came from God, not goo. A flash of light began your conception! Spiritual life also comes from the light of Jesus bursting into your darkness.
- Receive the light and life Christ offers –it’s a gift. Then take God’s gift of eternal life and light and express the glorious truth of what Jesus has done into the darkness around you!
